Save on your Redecorating:

  1. Clearance
  2. Frame Posters
  3. Garage Sales
  4. Mis-tinted paints
  5. Resale Stores
  6. Thrift Stores

A great way to save when on a budget is to look at garage sales, clearance and other low cost options. I was able to grab quite a few items for decorating themes this way. Another way I saved was by purchasing cute posters that matched my theme and hung them in low cost poster frames. I am also always looking at the clearance paint section to grab up colors that work for what I need.

To begin your girl’s room design, choose a main background color to paint the walls (tips and tricks). After the paint has dried for a couple of days, begin hanging your chosen wall decorations. My daughter’s room is theme is: around the world places that include London, Paris, New York and Rome. I was able to purchase a poster that I framed, small print pictures to frame, and some super simple wall decals that are easily removable. Next I added the various room decorations I had been able to find on clearance, such as an Eiffel Tower Lamp (like these), Eiffel Tower Jewelry holder (here), and some cute decorative book boxes (examples) that can serve as additional storage.

Finally, I utilized cube storage units that I already had in the room, but changed out the colors of the cube storage bins to match the new color theme. I was able to grab a bedspread and sheet set that was on clearance. I hung a paper lantern that I already had in my house, to match. Plus, my daughter wanted to utilize the damask designed paper lantern decorations from her Paris themed birthday party (read about it here), in her room. Add a few throw pillows and you have a adorable new girl’s room design.

The next adorable girl’s room design will take you to Paris, France! The wall color also a beautiful shade of turquoise, in my niece’s room. Add some awesome wall art and sticker decals, hang some chic chandeliers and you are on your way. Another great idea is to take some low cost or garage sale find picture frames, paint them black or your preferred color. Then hang them on the wall for a budget friendly wall decor. Pick out your bed set, some cute throw pillows and you have created your girl’s trip to Paris.

My other niece gets to go on a trip to Hollywood every chance she visits her room. Her room is a great shade of light green, but there are so many possibilities. Fashion a Hollywood sign out of block letters, some boa accents, hang some director’s clapperboards and faux movie reels; and you are right in the movie scene. The great part about all of these girl’s room designs is that it is easy to add your girl’s, tween, or teens personal touch. My niece has a couple of her personal favorite monster high doll’s posters.
