Easy Homemade Citrus Christmas Ornaments

We don’t have many snow days here in Las Vegas that we need to find projects for the kids to keep them occupied. If you are looking for a snow day project (or just a great family project), then this Easy Homemade Citrus Christmas Ornament project might be what you are looking for!

BTW, a huge thanks to Donia B. for the use of her photos and her homemade Christmas tree ornament project to share with others. Donia said she thought using a star fruit or some other fun shapes would have been cool looking but she couldn’t find any.

Below is her how to instructions on how to make your own.

Ingredients
  • Lemons
  • Limes
Instructions
  1. Slice lemons & limes about ¼" thick (any citrus fruit would work)
  2. Place in between paper towels and pat dry as much as possible without squishing the fruit too much
  3. Place directly on oven racks on lowest temp (mine was 175 degrees) for about 2 hours or so - keep checking and flipping every so often
  4. We then used spray adhesive, sprinkled glitter, and glued on snowflake buttons (and bees for his Aunty Bea lol)
  5. Poke a hole and string ribbon through to hang on the tree

What a fun project to do with the kids!
