Living in the Middle East area for 10 years will easily make you a Middle Eastern food addict. Unfortunately, it hard to find a good restaurant that can replicate the flavors that we grew to love.
Enter Baladie Cafe in Las Vegas.
Located in Northwest Las Vegas at the corner of Lone Mountain and Decatur, it’s tucked in the back of a strip mall.
If you read the Baladie Cafe reviews on Yelp, you will see folks calling it a Greek restaurant. It’s not. Do not go here expecting Greek food. At Baladie Cafe you will find dishes more in line with Middle Eastern Food. (Note – we do a lot of cooking and that area all uses the same ingredients and spices with a few variations with a different name.)
This is a true mom and pop restaurant with the owners and operators being a husband and wife team. They are always there and work hard to ensure everyone seating at the handful of tables are happy with their food.
Baladie Cafe Las Vegas
If you look at Yelp, you will find Baladie Cafe in the top 10 of restaurants in Las Vegas that are highly rated and budget friendly. If you look at their menu (see below) you will find that their wraps are all under $6 each.
I am a huge fan of their falafel platter (and Spencer will either gt the falafel wrap or a shawerma.) This is my go to dish unless I am ordering the sample platter to split with Bob.
Whatever you decide to buy for lunch or dinner, be sure to add the fries with sauce as a side dish. For our family we will get 2 – 3 orders for the table as they go fast (and normally with a fight over the last one). The are slightly seasoned with herbs but it’s the sauce that we all love.
During this visit, Alex had her first taste of baklava and now she’s hooked. But, I knew that would happen as she loves sweet and pistachios. I can’t believe we haven’t fed our child this before!
If you find yourself in Northwest Las Vegas, look them up and give them a try. I don’t think you will be disappointed!
